ALLMI Slinger / Signaller

Course Overview

Who Should Attend?

Many employers are under the impression that a lorry loader operator course also provides candidates with the knowledge and skill required for slinging and signalling, but this is not the case as additional training and assessment needs to be undertaken to be proficient in this area.

The use of inadequately trained slingers / signallers is a major cause of accidents. Even if such accidents do not cause a fatality or an injury, they will almost certainly lead to costly legal action or damaged equipment. Therefore, quality slinger / signaller training is a must. A properly trained slinger / signaller is also a more profitable one, providing higher levels of efficiency and less down time, as well as a safer working environment. Our ALLMI accredited instructors can supply the rigorous and all-inclusive training necessary to achieve these benefits.

We can provide an ALLMI Slinger / Signaller 2-day novice course, or a 1-day experienced course.

The ALLMI Slinger / Signaller course is approved by CSCS.

Assessment

The assessment process consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical.

The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple choice and ‘open’ questions.

The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to perform their duties as a Slinger / Signaller safely and efficiently.

Certification

On successful completion, the candidates:

  • Will receive an identity card and pass certificate
  • Be registered on the ALLMI Operator database
  • Receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual

The certificate and identity car are valid for five years, after which a refresher course and assessment will need to be completed. The identity card and certificate will detail which categories the operator is licensed to use.

ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. The programme is also recognised by Build UK and is referenced within the organisation’s official “Training Standard”.
